What to Expect

At Charlotte Coker Pilates, Charlotte will focus on providing personalized Pilates sessions tailored to your specific needs. The goal is to create a comfortable and supportive environment where you can enhance your strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. Whether you are looking to improve your posture, recover from an injury, or simply want to feel more energized, Charlotte is here to guide you on your Pilates journey. Make sure you let Charlotte know about any past or current injuries or medical history.
Goals are great! Make sure you share any goals you want to work towards through your Pilates practice.
Wear something that you're comfortable moving in most importantly, but if it is loose, appropriate undergarments please!
You can do Pilates barefoot or wear grip socks, but no socks without grips. No foot judgement here!
In Charlotte’s home studio, you will encounter a cockapoo upon entering the house who will likely want to say hello. Charlotte understands you may not be comfortable with a dog being in the house during your session, but in that event 24 hours advanced notice is required.
Reformer
The Reformer is a Balanced Body Contrology line. This reformer was created to mimic reformers from the 1970's. It has leather straps, handles, no risers and the springs give a muddy feel. All of this allows for more connection with your center.

EXO Chair
The split pedal EXO Chair by Balanced Body allows for full body integration or unilateral work. It is an extremely functional apparatus and has always been one of Charlotte's favorite pieces.

Pilates Springboard
The Pilates Springboard is very similar to the Tower, but is wall mounted. Charlotte may have you work on the Springboard in stead of the tower if she wants you to feel the springs differently, as this has more contemporary springs. It also has arm springs and leg springs, plus a ballet barre that is removable.

Tower & Mat
The Tower unit is attached to the back of the reformer frame with a mat. It has leg springs, arm springs, a roll-back bar with springs and a push-thru bar. This apparatus is so dynamic.

Spine Corrector
The spine corrector is a client favorite, especially for assisted extension. This version is high-density foam and is great to build strength and mobility. It can provide a full body workout all by itself.

Small Props
The studio has tons of small props to enhance your workout. You may use the small ball, bands, loops, hand weights, magic circle, foam roller or gliders. Props help to deepen connections and add a little extra fire or support movement, depending on how Charlotte uses them in your custom session.

Movement Heals.
Engaging in regular Pilates sessions can lead to a multitude of benefits, including improved core strength, enhanced muscle tone, increased flexibility, and better posture.
Additionally, Pilates is known for promoting mental well-being by reducing stress and anxiety. Take the leap and experience the transformative effects of Pilates on your body and mind.
Charlotte recommends scheduling at least 2 sessions weekly, with the best results being 3 times weekly. She is happy to give you things to do at home between sessions as well.
